First, self-criticism and criticism by nature and functions are the rule of existence and development of our Party, sharp weapons to build and rectify the Party. In the closing speech at the 4th Plenum of the Central Committee, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said that self-criticism and criticism were the “key factors” in the implementation of the resolutions of the 4th Plenum of the Central Committee.

Second, the objectives, requirements and content of self-criticism and criticism are to overcome constraints and weaknesses to make our Party strong and clean and enhance the Party’s leadership and fighting strength.

Third, self-criticism and criticism are two sides of one issue not two separate issues. Self-criticism and criticism are like two wings of a bird which can not fly if both wings do not flap at the same time.

Fourth, as far as the process of self-criticism and criticism is concerned, self-criticism and criticism should be made at all levels from higher to lower levels, from organization to individual.

Fifth, as far as relation between self-criticism, criticism and discipline is concerned, each organization and individual should look straight into reality  to make accurate assessment, particularly weaknesses so that to identify feasible and practical measures to overcome the constraints.

Sixth, it is necessary to effectively coordinate measures on self-criticism and criticism, measures on Party organization, cadres and membership and measures on political and ideological education.

To achieve successful realization of the resolutions of the 4th Plenum of the Party Central Committee, we should fully and synchronously implement these solutions. A lesson learnt from many political campaigns is: deeds should match words. What is said should be done and done well./.
