Many "hot spots" in the Middle East, East Asia, and South Asia continued to stand at stalemate, running the risk of explosion. Disputes over territorial sovereignty, sea, islands and natural resources became fiercer while non-traditional security challenges such as climate change, water security, cyber security, migration, terrorism emerged sharply, threatening the security and stability of many countries, including Vietnam.
