  • ASEAN with resolution of disputes in the East Sea

    Building a peaceful and stable environment in the region to help member countries firmly maintain independence, sovereignty and sustainable development has been reflected in almost all of ASEAN’s documents, especially in the ASEAN Charter (effective as of December 2008). Conflict prevention, management and settlement are one of the key integral components of the ASEAN Political-Security Community. Thus, participating in resolving disputes and conflicts in the East Sea within the scope of work is both a responsibility and an ensurance of ASEAN’s common interest.

  • Important contributions of party external affairs to achievements in foreign policy of the 11th national congress of the communist party of Vietnam

The 11th Party Congress emphasized: “Continuing the expansion of international cooperation in national defence and security”(1). This strategic guiding thought of the Party needs to be effectively, widely and deeply carried out in external military activities so as to further international cooperation in defence of Viet Nam.

    In the current situation, when there are importance changes taking place in international relations, besides contradictions among nations, the nucleus role of ASEAN as a regional organization in an emerging regional structure in East Asia and Asia-Pacific has been recognized by the world. ASEAN mechanisms have proved to be effective and contributed positively to solving challenges, implementing principles and code of conduct for peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region and the world.

  • Vietnam’s options during international integration trend

    The 11th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam identified uniform and comprehensive implementation of external activities, proactive and active international integration, maintenance of a peaceful and stable environment, and creation of favorable conditions for national sustainable development as steps to turn Vietnam into an industrialized and modernized country by 2020.

  • Different options for Viet Nam in the international integration

    Internationalization and globalization are objective development trends of the time and by all means are decided by the increasingly development of production forces. International integration is the subjective behavior of countries towards that trend. Most of countries in the world, big or small, rich or poor, should integrate to capitalize on development opportunities while understanding that there are innumerable challenges in the integration process. Viet Nam is not an exception.
