Viet Nam and India established official diplomatic relations in 7 January 1972. Since then the traditional friendship has undergone forty years of continued successes which confirms sustainable development.

Mankind experienced the 6th year of the 21st century in a world which was full of changes and fluctuation and contradictions and complex movements reflecting a colorful picture of international life. All threats, challenges and exposures to world peace and stability, and security of nations have not yet been resolved. However, with successes achieved by the trend of cooperation in struggling for peace and development in 2006, and the balance of forces which leaned towards progressive forces that fight for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress, we are confident of a brighter prospect in 2007.
